Playing with Katrina

On Sunday Max and I went for a jog with my good friend Katrina. We stopped by the playground at Lake Meridian to play. Max got to have his first trip down a slide ever with Katrina.

This is a picture of Max’s second trip down a slide at the park.

Max also got to swing with Katrina.

After the park we stopped by and visited Katrina’s parents. They have a neat, old antique desk that Max really liked. Katrina’s dad Harvey helped steady Max.

Max and I are looking forward to more play time with Katrina

Exhausted Max

A few weeks ago my sister stayed with Max while Kelly and I went out on a date. Max was so tired that he fell asleep on the floor! My sister was awesome and snapped a few pictures. Since then we have reintroduced late afternoon/early evening naps on an as needed basis.

Max is participating in a study at UW and afterward we go to Green Lake and jog or walk around if its not raining. They happen to have a great park there. I put Max in one of the baby swings there. He wasn’t sure about it at first but he eventually liked it. Of course I didn’t have my camera.

Kelly usually gets Max ready for bed and changes his diaper and puts his p.j.’s on him. He also does this int he living room. This is what happened last night.

Max seems to enjoy riding around on his daddy in a backpack!

Nine Months Old!

Max is nine months old! When did this happen!?

Stats: 19lbs.(50-75th percentile) He’s a lean, mean baby machine!

90th percentile for height

Here is some of what he has been up to:

Crawling like crazy and able to pull himself up

Walking behind his little walking toy

Working on getting back down on the floor

Going up stairs

Cruises when holding on to furniture

Feeding himself cheerios, cheese, puffs etc with a pincer grasp

Turns pages of books sometimes if he’s interested (usually he has better things to do then sit still)

Will stop briefly when told, “no.”

Turns when his name is called

Starting to exhibit reluctance toward strangers

First beets – not a hit. I mix them with other vegetables to disguise their interesting flavor.

Likes:

Sprinkles the cat (the feeling is not mutual)

Dogs (Charlie, Bella, Sam & Buddy

Feeding himself

Finding mommy

Playing peek-a-BOO!

Watching cars drive by

Going for walks in his jogger

Bouncing

Baths

First cheese! Far better than stinky beets.

Dislikes:

Having clothes put on him (having to be still)

Having his nose wiped

Having his snot sucked

Being laid down for a nap

Having to wait a little for food

Being put in his car seat (its getting better though)

Today Max discovered that he is tall enough to look out of our living room window. He likes watching cars as they drive by and looking to see what the neighbors are up to. Today we visited Max’s cousin Grace to celebrate her dedication. Afterward there was a party at her house and Max figured out how to climb up stairs! We’re working on going down them backward. Its going to be a while I think
