I blew my travel budget many times in that bookstore… Anyway, I chose Zipes’ Fairy Tale as Myth, Myth as Fairy Tale, because the title seemed to be dealing with some residual questions I had lingering from my MA thesis. An offer of help is proudly refused: "I had rather be a thorn in a hedge than a rose in his grace." The second book deals with a friendship between four different animals; the third with a war between the crows and the owls. This story consists entirely of sentences that are both internally self-contradictory and senseless in their broader context.
